My blog has been nominated for a WEGO Health award for Best in Show: Blog! This excites me greatly because I don’t get nominated for a lot of things. This post is just going to be one giant shameless plug to convince you to click on the link below and “Endorse Damsel in a Dress.” If I win I get some fancy health activist business cards, a donation to a charity of my choice, and a feature on WEGO Health’s website.
HERE IS THE LINK YOU SHOULD CLICK ON IT AND VOTE FOR ME BECAUSE I LOVE YOU EVEN THOUGH I MIGHT NOT REALLY KNOW YOU!
Remember that time I baked you cookies and brought them to your house for you? You should vote for me.
Remember that time I bought you soup and fed it to you when you were sick? You should vote for me.
Remember that time I babysat your kids so you could have a quiet night to yourself for a change? You should vote for me.
Remember that time I drove you to the airport at 5 am even though I’m not a morning person? You should vote for me.
Oh wait….I didn’t do any of that did I? I’m a horrible blog friend!
How about you vote for my blog if it has ever helped you understand some of the difficulties young people with invisible illnesses are faced with, or if you are waiting to be diagnosed with a disease and you have no clue what is wrong with you and then you found my blog and realized you are not alone out there, or if you like the fancy pictures I draw, or if you are just bored and have nothing better to do?
If you don’t want to vote for my blog, I’m okay with that. But the WEGO Health Awards are filled with awesome nominees who really advocate for awareness of a huge variety of health concerns. Health problems affect every single one of us, whether it’s cancer, MS, arthritis, allergies, asthma, depression, schizophrenia…the list can go on for a very long time. There are people out there who are putting lots of time and energy into making life a whole lot better for everyone affected by disease. So if you don’t want to vote for me, please click on this link and take a look at the other nominees. You can even vote for me AND other nominees – there are several different categories! Also just take a look at the WEGO Health website – an amazing resource for health activists to network and make a bigger difference.
Okay, I’m off to bake you those cookies now!
